Computer problems

These last few weeks my computer has been extremely under the weather. I was able to write, but not save anything to my manuscript. This resulted in alot of frustration and anger on my part (along with a few... choice words for Microsoft.) Howevrer, I believe that I've gotten all the bugs worked out and it should be smooth sailing to complete the novel in this coming week. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Rewrites and work

I've begun rewrites on the novel and I'm also working to have the novel complete this week. I can't wait for it to finally be out of my hands and into the literary agent's hands!

Kicking myself like crazy

Alright, it's been FAR too long since I posted here AND far too long since I really sat down and worked on my novel. Thankfully in about 1 1/2 weeks, my main worries and distractions will be over and I will have more free time available to finally complete this novel. It's often been said, "better late than never" and I don' think I want to be much later!

First couple of chapters are out

Well, I've sent the first couple of chapters out to be read. Basically, it's what the literary agents will see if they requrest a partial of the manuscript. I'll post back here what is said from the readers...for better or worse!

Also, my college classes (which have gotten in the way of my necessary writing) are winding down and the finals are in a few weeks. Once the classes are done, the novel will not be far behind!

Wow....I hate getting distracted

Well, here it is the beginning of April....and the novel is not done yet. Kind of aggravating, but I started college back up, lots of things went on at the office and it's finally all starting to slow down. I've been working off and on on the novel and I'm hoping to be done with everything before the month is out. I've been rewriting some of what I've written and I'm REALLY liking how it's all coming together.

I'll have a rough edit out to several proof readers in the next few weeks.

I will also be posting here more often.

Crazy times....

Well, suffice to say that I took a bit of time off from working on the novel. It is now well into February and I have quite a bit of writing to catch up on. I'm moving forward with the novel and will be complete with it shortly.

I'll post more later, but right now I've got to get back to work.

Read the previous post first...

Alright, since I wrote about the bone-headed thing that Kyle did, I wante to post the paragraph that really conveyed what he did. I was on such a role when I wrote this paragraph, that I swear I was only typing and it was coming to me from him. I hadn't outlined this part at all!! I love it when a character takes over his story.

Here is the paragraph!

------------------------

The firefighter had left Kyle’s side while he was praying and Kyle knew that now was his chance. Without giving it a second thought he grabbed a firefighter’s coat from the back of the truck. He sprinted across the front yard, thrusting his body into the coat as he went. The heat of the flames intensified with each stride, he knew it would only be worse on the inside but it didn’t matter. The only thing he cared about now was getting Elena out of there. Just a few more feet and he’d be at the front door. “God, please watch over us.” With that final utterance, he raced up the front stairs.

Tell me what you thought!
