Alright, I've got a point of contact in the Homicide division of the LAPD! I'm pretty excited about it because I will be able to get a great bit of information from him that will really help to keep the book as authentic as possible.
I am working now on a laundry list of questions and I'm firing up my mini-tape recorder so I can get everything that I need remembered! I'm sure that I will have many more contacts within the LAPD and I will also be looking for any contacts in smaller town PD's as well.
I'm very excited how this is all shaping up and I'm REALLY anxious to get this book completed! I know that I will learn alot about myself and also how to improve my writing style as I work on this novel. I just can't wait!

Update - I got in touch with the Detective in the LAPD. I've got my first meeting all setup and I've got quite a few questions to ask him already.
