Alright, after much calling and emailing I finally was alble to get in touch with the necessary personnel to setup my visit to San Quentin Prison. I have quite a long drive ahead of me, but I think the rewards will be worth it! I'm working on a list of questions for each person that I interview. I want to get the point of view from as many people as I can and use this information to make the story a great one.
I'll be getting a tour of the prison, the gas chamber and I'll be able to talk with some of the officials, some of the guards and some of the prisoners. I think the weirdest thing (at least so far) about this trip is the fact that I was told to wear no blue at all. Not even blue jeans. I will find out why when I'm there and post it here later.
I've got to finish transcribing my notes from the interview with the Detective, and clear up my memory card on my camera before I get headed out there. This should be a very interesting trip! I'm hoping that all will go well and I will be able to bang out several new pages of the novel while I am in that area.
